Doors and bar open at 6pm for a prompt start at 7pm at Tilehurst Royal British Legion Club, Downing Road, Reading RG31 5BB.
The Reading FC Former Players’ Association is delighted to be hosting an evening with three prolific strikers: current Reading FC first team player Jack Marriott, first team coach James Beattie and former Reading FC player Dave Kitson.
Jack Marriott joined Reading in the summer from Wrexham and is Reading’s leading goalscorer this season despite missing games through injury. Jack has hit seventeen goals in just 25 appearances, and his incredible strike rate took Reading to the edge of the play-offs. In February he hit a league hattrick as Reading defeated Wycombe 3-2 at the Select Car Leasing Stadium.
James Beattie, a former England international, had a long playing career including scoring 68 goals over 204 games for Southampton. He also played for Everton, Sheffield United, Stoke and Rangers before moving into coaching. Dave Kitson is of course a Reading legend and was a vital player in Reading’s famous 106 points Championship winning season. Kitson scored 54 times for Reading and scored Reading’s first goal in the top tier of English football.
